- In case you missed our all-member email over the holidays, Congress passed a $1.7 trillion omnibus package at the end of December that included two NABIP-supported provisions regarding telehealth and long-term care.
-The House still does not have a speaker after a failed thirteenth speaker ballot Friday afternoon. Without a formally elected speaker of the House, the lower chamber of Congress cannot conduct official business.
-The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) released a proposed rule on Thursday that, if finalized, would effectively prohibit employers from imposing noncompete agreements.
-Federal agencies issued guidance establishing limited deadline and enforcement relief for the 2020 and 2021 Prescription Drug Data Collection (RxDC) submissions that were technically due by December 27, 2022.
-CMS released two items related to the ban on surprise billing over the holidays: one piece of guidance amending the independent dispute resolution (IDR) administrative fee, and a report highlighting IDR cases from April to September 2022.
-Applications are being acceptedfor the Legislative Achievement Award, Spirit of Freedom Award and Legislative Excellence Award. Each of these awards will be presented at Capitol Conference in February, where we will recognize individual members and state and local chapters for their accomplishments during 2022.
