What a month! As we close May 2023, here is a thought-- we go up from here. Between our Charlotte Board Retreat and the Symposium, we are bringing our Association back to new levels. Rebrand, Rebuilt, Recruit is my new mantra. How exciting to be part of the evolution. Starting with our retreat, sitting down and spending quality time with our board members was an opporunity to get in the weeds and make a plan, It took awhile to rebuild a board-- and, we did it. Thank you to the Charlotte Board for contributing time and energy. We are doing it-- Meredith, Adrian, Amber, Scott, Matt, Kaitlyn and myself. We decided monthly meetings were not drawing the attendance neccessary. We are changing it up a bit-- Quarterly meetings with Happy hours and Social hours filling in the gaps. Breweries bring out the best of the best. Younger members bring so much to the table. For those of you who missed the symposium--you have another chance to participate in late August. The CE classes, networking and meeting new friends was fun. Thank you, Tony, Michelle, Andrew-- everyone!! Don't forget, Charlotte chapter members, we have a new board!! Finally, a HUGE round of applause for Carol Matznick-- We are so lucky to have her as she continues her role as Past NC State President. We welcome Michelle Wilson- Reynolds as she takes the rain! This is the time of year that we really notice the trees filling out, flowers blooming, and a general great feeling that the cold weather is behind us. Not too humid, welcome sunshine, longer days and general feeling better. So now that we’re enjoying the beginning of summer, don’t forget to register and join all of your colleagues in Raleigh at the Symposium Road Show featuring Dale Folwell, on May 23, 2023. This is the first of the Two Part Series. The second part will be held in August 2023. The May 23, 2023 event will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, in Durham, from 8:00AM to 4:00PM. Attendees will receive five (5) CE hours. You may register at www.nabipnc.org/roadshow2023. NABIPNC-Triad Chapter will be having virtual and in-person member meetings in 2023. The next in-person Member Meeting will be Tuesday, June 20, venue to be announced soon. Please mark the date. Notice will be sent out soon. Greetings from Western North Carolina!   I hope that all the Moms’ across the State enjoyed a wonderful Mother’s Day. The brunch time weather at Reems Creek Country Club here in Asheville was spectacular with the most amazing views. It was simply picture perfect.  I am so grateful to be a Mom and Grandma.   Due to several schedule changes our May 18th meeting has been cancelled. Instead, we will be in Raleigh/ Durham for NABIP-NC Symposium Roadshow. We will have an opportunity to obtain CE credits and learn about new products from the industry partners which will be beneficial for our clients.   At the end of each chapter year, it is a tradition for our chapter  to have our annual Awards “Picnic” dinner. On Wednesday, May 31st beginning at 5:00 PM we will share friendship as our members come together to enjoy evening beverages before the actual dinner. Please join us at Isa’s Bistro Wine Cellar located in the historic Haywood Park Hotel, downtown Asheville. Although Valet Parking is complimentary, please consider a generous gratuity. Although we encourage all of our members to attend, we look forward to seeing other NABIP-NC members from across the State. Our own David Smith will induct the 2023-2024 Board and it is rumored that Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey will attend.
